Open fire, smoke, and ceramics – a spectacle that captivates attention
A spectacle of the elements: fire, smoke, heated clay, and unpredictable effects that literally occur before the audience’s eyes.
The RAKU method originated in 16th-century Japan and is still considered one of the most spectacular ceramic techniques in the world. Heated to nearly 1000°C, the vessels are removed from the kiln with special tongs and then rapidly cooled and reduced in natural materials. The result is unique glaze cracks, metallic reflections, and unrepeatable patterns—each firing is one of a kind.
The show perfectly fits the atmosphere of the historic fort: fire, craftsmanship, austere space, and the atmosphere of ancient technologies create an incredibly evocative experience for event participants.
